COSRX has released two sunscreens this year: the COSRX Shield Fit All Green Comfort Sun SPF50+ PA++++ is meant for sensitive skin while the COSRX Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun SPF 50+ PA+++ is a very lightweight, invisible cream for the hot summer months (too).

Main ingredients?
The All Green Comfort cream contains only “green” ingredients based on the EWG ratings. It has two mineral (physical) sunscreen ingredients, some plant exctracts (e.g. centella asiatica), some snail mucin, it is alcohol, paraben and perfume free (does contain clary essential oil).

The Snail Essence cream contains 3 chemical sunscreen ingredients, a lot of moisturizers and of course snail mucin too. It is paraben and perfume free but NOT essential oil free.

Review:
The COSRX Shield Fit All Green Comfort Sun SPF50+ PA++++ has surprised me, the texture is beautiful, it is lightweight, blends easily and I don’t think it is sticky nor oily. It looks matte on my skin (not drying), it does leave a white cast but it is not too noticeable. I’d say it is much better than most mineral sunscreens, especially because of the sun protection it gives (SPF50+ PA++++) but still manages to be light and comfortable on the skin. It is almost perfect: I wish it didn’t contain clary essential oil, it is strong and not too pleasant in my opinion. Otherwise it is a great mineral sunscreen!

The COSRX Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun SPF 50+ PA+++ reminds me of some Japanese sunscreens, it is chemical, so it doesn’t leave a white cast at all, contains alcohol to make it very lightweight and perfect for the summer: it absorbs quickly! It’s moisturizing enough but not oily, does leave a glow on my skin. It will be perfect for the summer, on very hot days when you don’t feel like putting on anything but you know: sun protection is a must every day! I think men would prefer this one too. I don’t even need a facial moisturizer if I use this (I have combination/oily skin). The scent is not strong at all, it smells much better than the green one.

As for me (combination/oily skin): I prefer the green one on weekdays and the yellow one on special occasions, hotter days, I can’t really pick a favourite but I’m leaning towards the All Green one! 🙂

Recommended for:
The green one (COSRX Shield Fit All Green Comfort Sun) is great for normal, oily, combination, sensitive skin if you don’t mind the essential oil. The yellow one (COSRX Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun) is good for normal and dry skin (and men).
