I was so excited about the new COSRX AC Collection products, everything looked so promising so I ordered some of the items without waiting for the first reviews. I’ve been using the COSRX AC Collection Calming Foam Cleanser for a while, it is supposed to be a better and upgraded version of the Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser (I have never tried that one because of the very high pH level).
The ingredient list looks OK: centella asiatica is present in different forms (Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid) which is good at heeling and soothing the skin. BHA (0.5% Salicylic Acid) helps keeping the pores clean and prevent pimples but there are not enough moisturizers in the formula and it contains some essential oils (lavender and scots pine leaf). It free of alcohol, fragrance and paraben.
The tube is huge, a little goes a long way, the texture is creamy, it lathers and cleanses very well! I find it non-irritating and at first I didn’t think it was drying but I have combination/oily skin. The skin feels perfectly clean, the pores look smaller but this tightening effect can be too much if you have normal or dry skin. I believe the pH level of this cleanser is pretty high, I am sorry COSRX, I love almost everything you guys release but this cleanser is stripping if I use it every day. If you use toner and moisturize after cleansing you might not notice it, and I do appreciate the soothing proterties, after all it is a very good cleanser if you have oily skin.
Oily, acne prone skin but only if you use a toner and moisturizer immediately, I think men would love it too. I won’t repurchase it but I understand there are many people (especially in Asia) how prefer foamy cleansers with high pH level, this is one of the more gentle ones!
