Benton’s latest sunscreen was launched in August and it’s called Benton Papaya-S Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++ For Sport. I love the gentle, lightweight Papaya-D Sun Cream but the Papaya-S Sun Cream is totally different… Well, let’s see the bright side of life: at least I have a product I can recommend for my readers with dry skin! 😉
I have combination skin with oily T-zone which means that I love using and recommending lightweight yet moisturizing products and most of the reviews I wrote in the past 6 years showcase great choices if you have the same skin type. Do you belong this group and you are on the hunt for a good sunscreen? Then don’t look further, Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream is exactly what you need! On the other hand, my readers with dry skin can enjoy the new Benton Papaya-S Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++ For Sport because it is perfect for them!
The cream seems nice, the texture is great at first sight, but it leaves a very noticeable white cast even though I have very fair skin! It takes forever to absorb unless you have very dry skin! I recommend not using any other moisturizers either because the sun cream is oily and moisturizing enough! If you like dewy skin go for it but I find it sticky which doesn’t make it the perfect sunscreen for outdoor sports. I mean… Everything, including insects and dirt sticks onto my face and it’s very annoying but then again, I have combination skin, it will be a different experience for you if you have drier skin. It is also worth mentioning that the Benton Papaya-S sun cream provides very strong protection against the sun, SPF50 PA++++ sounds very good to me and I feel protected during the day, I just wish it was more suitable for my skin type. You can find physical and chemical sunscreens in it as well as many skin friendly ingredients, it is gentle as it contains no alcohol, paraben or perfume, but the geranium maculatum oil does make it smell very pleasant (barely noticeably though).
Let’s keep it short: if you have normal, combination or oily skin, please try the Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream, that’s a wonder and it’s perfect for men too! If you have dry skin and you need really strong protection (and you don’t mind the white cast) then you’ll love the Papaya Sun-D Sun Cream SPF50! It is simple but I hope that this sun cream gets reformulated next year (e.g. ditch the sunflower oil please Benton), so I can wear and love it because I love SPF50 too! 🙂
