My heart started to beat a bit faster when I heard about the new I’M FROM Ginseng Serum. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one, since we are talking about one of the most popular Asian ingredients, but let’s see what my skin thinks about it! 🙂 I’ve been using it for more than a month, so it’s time for a review!

The packaging is simple but pretty as you would expect from I’M FROM, this WishTrend exclusive brand. The bottle (30 ml) is made of glass, the liquid inside has a light brown colour and it smells like the I’M FROM Black Sugar Scrub – if I remember correctly. Considering the price of ginseng, the I’M FROM Ginseng Serum is pretty affordable: right now it costs less than $30 which is nice for a good facial serum. According to the description it contains 7.98% ginseng extract and if you are a fan of hanbang cosmetics too, then I’m sure you love this fact.

Why ginseng?

Well, ginseng is one of the most popular herbal medicines in the world, Koreans especially respect and love this plant: drinking it as tea, taking it as a supplement, using it in skin care products etc. – the list is endless when it comes to its benefits. This serum helps enhancing blood circulation to make the complexion more lively and healthy looking. And of course it can replenish nutrients to the skin, armed up with some antioxidants and other plant extracts, the effect should be visible soon – at least it took me a couple of days to really enjoy the benefits of this product.

But… Is it worth the price? It’s definitely great to see ginseng extract as the second ingredient in the INCI, plus you’ll see some ginseng seed oil in it too. Besides these amazing ingredients there are plenty of moisturizers, antioxidants and some plant extract too to help your skin get smoother, softer and nourished. Prior to receiving it I had thought that it would be a great day time serum and I was right! Though I ended up using it in the evening too which I find a bit shocking considering my love for the Borabit ampoulle… Anyway, there is no “wow-effect” at first if that’s what you are looking for but it’s worth using it regularly: the more I use it the happier my skin looks. The consistency is great, it’s a light liquid, absorbs fast, it’s easy to build it in to your skincare routine: layering is not a problem either, it works well with other products as well. It does contain a bit of perfume but otherwise it’s a great serum for all skin types, especially for those who love ginseng or would love to have this ingredient present in their routine. I believe I’ll see the wonders of ginseng when the bottle gets empty, so I’ll post an update about it (in a couple of months) 🙂
